MagicSchool is an AI-powered education platform built specifically for K–12 schools, teachers, students, and school districts. Founded in Denver, Colorado, in 2023, the platform is designed to help educators reduce the time spent on planning, assessment, differentiation, communication, and other routine classroom tasks while providing students with structured AI-supported learning tools.
The platform brings together more than 80 AI tools for teachers and more than 50 tools for students. Teacher-focused tools cover areas such as lesson planning, worksheet creation, quiz generation, presentation creation, rubric development, IEP drafting, writing feedback, report-card comments, professional email writing, differentiation, and classroom resource development. Student-facing features include tutoring, writing feedback, learning activities, and other tools intended to support learning under teacher and school oversight.
One of MagicSchool’s prominent features is Raina, its AI chatbot and instructional assistant. Raina can work with educators across different MagicSchool tools, helping them revise outputs, customize materials, generate ideas, and adapt resources for different learners. MagicSchool also provides student-facing AI experiences designed around teacher-led activities and controlled classroom use rather than unrestricted general-purpose chatbot access.
MagicSchool places significant emphasis on education-specific privacy and safety. The company states that its infrastructure is SOC 2 certified and FERPA/COPPA compliant, and that student or teacher data is not used to train its AI models. Its platform also includes safeguards, moderation features, and teacher oversight intended for school environments.
The platform uses multiple large language models rather than relying on a single model provider. MagicSchool states that it uses models from OpenAI, Anthropic, and Google and routes requests according to the educational task. This multi-model approach is intended to let MagicSchool select models appropriate to different educational workflows while maintaining its own safety and moderation layer.
MagicSchool also supports school and district administration. Enterprise customers receive features such as centralized management, district dashboards, single sign-on, district-specific tools, usage analytics, student-room insights, enhanced moderation, professional development, and implementation support. Districts can also integrate MagicSchool with existing learning-management and identity systems.
For teachers, the platform is particularly focused on reducing repetitive preparation work. Educators can generate lesson materials, assessments, presentations, rubrics, differentiated resources, emails, and feedback without switching between numerous separate AI applications. The platform can also export or connect classroom work with services used by schools, including Google and Microsoft products.
MagicSchool is therefore positioned less as a general-purpose AI chatbot and more as an education-specific AI operating environment. Its emphasis on K–12 workflows, teacher control, student safeguards, district administration, professional development, and education-focused integrations makes it particularly relevant to schools that want to introduce generative AI within an existing educational structure.
MagicSchool currently offers three main plans: Free, Plus, and Enterprise.
The Free plan costs $0 and is described as free forever for individual teachers. It includes 80+ teacher tools, Raina, quizzes, class writing feedback, basic support and professional development, and privacy and security features.
The Plus plan costs $12.99 per month when billed monthly or $8.33 per user per month when billed annually, equivalent to $99.96 per year. Plus adds features such as unlimited generations, unlimited output history, unlimited AI-output editing, 50+ student tools, student learning insights, advanced tool features, and MagicSchool Labs.
The Enterprise plan uses custom pricing for schools and districts. It adds institution-wide access, single sign-on, SIS/LMS integrations, district dashboards, customization, enhanced moderation, professional services, dedicated customer support, and implementation assistance.
MagicSchool provides a broad education-specific AI toolkit rather than concentrating on one isolated task. Its strongest feature is the combination of teacher productivity tools, student learning tools, administrative controls, privacy features, and school-system integrations within one platform.
The large collection of teacher tools can cover much of the daily preparation process, including lesson planning, assessments, presentations, rubrics, worksheets, differentiation, writing feedback, and communication. Raina provides an additional conversational layer for refining and customizing generated materials.
Another important advantage is the distinction between individual teacher access and district-level deployment. Teachers can use the Free or Plus plans independently, while Enterprise provides centralized administration and oversight for schools and districts.
MagicSchool also has a strong integration strategy for educational environments. Its official integration list includes Google, Canvas, Schoology, Clever, ClassLink, and Microsoft, allowing schools to connect the platform with existing LMS and authentication systems.
The main limitation is that MagicSchool is highly specialized around K–12 education. Someone looking for a general-purpose AI writing, coding, business automation, or research platform may find its scope narrower than broader AI assistants. The free version also has standard usage limits, while advanced features and district administration are placed in Plus and Enterprise plans.
MagicSchool’s language support is also substantial, although its official documentation distinguishes between interface languages and translation capabilities. As of March 2026, MagicSchool states that it offers 24 interface languages and can translate into 98 languages. Its FAQ explicitly names 20 languages as examples, rather than publishing the complete 24-language interface list.
For schools and educators seeking an AI platform designed specifically around teaching and learning workflows, MagicSchool provides a relatively comprehensive combination of content generation, student support, educator productivity, integrations, safety controls, and district administration.
