Superblocks

Superblocks is an AI-native application development platform for building, securing, deploying, and monitoring internal business applications. It combines AI-assisted app generation with visual development, code extensibility, enterprise integrations, workflows, permissions, security controls, and deployment options. The platform is designed primarily for organizations that need to create production-grade internal applications while allowing IT and security teams to maintain governance over data, integrations, access, and deployment.

The platform’s current AI experience is centered around Clark, Superblocks’ AI coding agent. Clark allows users to describe an application or business requirement in natural language and generate an application from that description. Users can then refine the generated application visually or extend it with code. Superblocks positions this approach as a way for business teams, analysts, developers, and operations teams to create internal applications without requiring every application to be developed from scratch by engineering teams.

Clark can work with an organization’s existing enterprise data and integrations. Superblocks describes an organization knowledge layer that can contain data schemas, API documentation, integration configurations, design systems, coding standards, security expectations, and other organizational knowledge. This context allows Clark to generate applications and code that are aligned with the organization’s existing environment and development standards.

Superblocks is also designed around a governed development model. Instead of giving AI-generated applications unrestricted access to business systems, Superblocks acts as an integration and access-control layer. Authentication, permissions, secrets management, and auditing can be managed centrally. Database queries and API interactions can be monitored, while role-based access controls determine what users and applications are permitted to access.

The application builder includes more than 100 UI components, including tables, charts, forms, maps, buttons, and panels. Developers can configure these components visually and apply their organization’s design system. When the visual builder is not sufficient, Superblocks allows developers to extend applications with code and custom React components.

Superblocks supports multiple programming technologies for extending applications and workflows. Developers can use JavaScript, Python, Node.js, SQL, and React, depending on the part of the application being developed. This combination of visual development and code gives technical teams the ability to handle more complex business logic while still using the platform’s visual builder for common application-development tasks.

The platform also provides workflows and scheduled jobs for automating backend processes. Teams can build recurring tasks, event-triggered processes, APIs, notifications, and other operational workflows. These capabilities allow Superblocks applications to do more than display information; they can also interact with connected business systems and automate operational processes.

AI can be incorporated directly into applications as well. Superblocks supports connections to AI models and can use AI to generate text, images, and code. Teams can create AI-powered applications and assistants by connecting models to their databases and APIs, allowing generated responses to use organization-specific information.

Integration is another major part of the platform. Superblocks currently provides more than 50 native integrations covering databases, data warehouses, cloud storage, AI models, SaaS applications, and APIs. Examples include PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, Snowflake, Databricks, BigQuery, Amazon S3, Salesforce, Zendesk, GitHub, Slack, Google Sheets, OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini, and GraphQL. Superblocks can also connect to systems through APIs when a native connector is not available.

Security and governance are particularly important to Superblocks’ current positioning. The platform provides granular permissions, RBAC, SSO, SCIM, audit logs, secrets management, source control, and deployment controls. Enterprise customers can deploy Superblocks in cloud, hybrid, or cloud-prem environments, including within AWS, Google Cloud, or Microsoft Azure infrastructure.

Superblocks also supports Git-based development workflows. Applications can be reviewed through GitHub or GitLab, allowing teams to incorporate version control, pull requests, and CI/CD processes into their application-development lifecycle. Generated applications can also be exported as standard React applications, giving organizations greater control over the resulting code.

Another current capability is application importing. Superblocks can import applications or prototypes created with tools such as Claude, Replit, Lovable, v0, Bolt, Base44, Streamlit, Retool, or custom code and bring them into a governed production environment. This provides a path for organizations that want to move AI-generated prototypes into an environment with enterprise permissions, integrations, security scanning, and deployment controls.

Overall, Superblocks is focused on helping organizations create internal applications quickly while maintaining the security, governance, integration, and development practices expected in enterprise environments. It combines AI application generation with traditional visual development and code-based customization, making it applicable to developers as well as business and operations teams building internal software.

Pricing

Superblocks currently offers Teams and Enterprise plans. The Teams plan starts at $125 per month when billed monthly, or $100 per month when billed annually, representing a 20% annual-billing discount. Teams includes 100 Governed Agent Units per month, the Clark AI agent for app building, Clark User Memory, staging and production environments, 50+ integrations, one hosted application, and support for up to 15 builders. Additional hosted applications cost $10 per app per month.

The Enterprise plan uses custom pricing and adds capabilities such as organization-level AI memory, source control integrations, secrets management, embedded applications, unlimited end users, VPC or cloud-prem deployment, SSO/SAML/OIDC, RBAC, audit logs, observability pipelines, security agents, dedicated account support, and enterprise SLAs. Superblocks also offers a 14-day free trial for the Teams plan.

Review

Superblocks is built around a clear enterprise use case: allowing teams to build internal applications with AI while keeping IT and security controls in place. Clark provides natural-language application generation, while the visual builder and code environment give developers ways to refine and extend those applications.

Its integration layer is an important part of the platform. Superblocks can connect applications to databases, SaaS services, AI providers, APIs, and data warehouses, allowing internal applications to work with existing business infrastructure instead of requiring organizations to move their data into a separate system.

The platform also offers substantial control over security and deployment. RBAC, SSO, audit logging, secrets management, Git-based workflows, and VPC deployment options are useful for organizations that need to govern internally developed applications.

One consideration is that Superblocks is primarily focused on internal business applications rather than consumer-facing software. Its enterprise capabilities can also make the platform more involved than lightweight no-code application builders. In addition, the current Teams plan has a paid starting price, while Enterprise pricing is customized.

For organizations looking to combine AI-generated applications with enterprise data, integrations, governance, and code extensibility, Superblocks provides a platform that brings those capabilities together in one environment.
