The Free plan costs $0 and includes 125 one-time credits. Standard is listed at $15/month when billed monthly or $12/month with annual billing. Pro is $35/month monthly or $28/month annually, while Max is $95/month monthly or $76/month annually.

The Team plan, introduced in September 2026, costs $69 per seat/month or $55 per seat/month when billed annually and supports 2–9 seats. Enterprise pricing is customized.

Runway’s API is priced separately from the web application. API credits and web-app credits are separate balances.

Review

Runway has developed from an AI video-generation platform into a much broader creative ecosystem. Its current offering combines video generation, image creation, audio generation, AI video editing, visual transformation, workflows, plugins, MCP connectivity, and developer APIs in one environment.

Its strongest feature is the breadth of creative capabilities available from one platform. Users can generate a clip, modify existing footage, create supporting images and audio, upscale content, build workflows, and integrate Runway into professional applications. The ability to access several models within the same creative environment also gives users more flexibility when different models perform better for different tasks.

The Adobe plugin is particularly useful for users already working in Premiere Pro or After Effects because it allows Runway’s tools to operate directly inside the editing environment.

The main consideration is the credit system. AI video generation can consume credits quickly, and different models have different costs. Users producing large volumes of content may therefore need higher plans or additional credits.

Runway also requires an internet connection for its cloud-based workflows, and its interface is not currently localized even though its models can accept prompts in languages other than English.
