Zoho Zia is Zoho’s AI-powered assistant and intelligence layer, designed to bring generative AI, automation, analytics, predictions, recommendations, and conversational assistance into Zoho’s suite of business applications. Rather than operating only as a standalone chatbot, Zia is embedded across products such as Zoho CRM, Zoho Desk, Zoho WorkDrive, Zoho Writer, Zoho Social, Zoho Show, and other Zoho applications.
In Zoho CRM, Zia supports six broad areas of business intelligence: data management, productivity, customer experience, insights and analytics, intelligent alerts, and customer engagement and retention. It can help users organize CRM data, identify patterns, generate insights, automate tasks, and make decisions using business information.
Zia also provides generative AI capabilities. Depending on the Zoho product, users can ask questions, generate or rewrite content, summarize information, analyze text, create recommendations, and interact with business data using natural-language prompts. Zoho Writer, for example, allows users to use Zia for content generation, rewriting, improving sentence structure, translation, and document assistance.
Customer-service teams can use Zia through Zoho Desk for tasks such as ticket summarization, sentiment and tone analysis, reply assistance, content generation, writing assistance, and answer generation. Zia can use knowledge-base content to help produce responses and can adjust the tone, length, and language of generated replies.
Zia is also used for file and knowledge management. In Zoho WorkDrive, users can ask questions about individual files, generate content, summarize documents and presentations, generate images, translate comments, and receive suggestions while collaborating on files.
For presentations, Zia in Zoho Show can generate presentations from simple prompts, create additional slides, improve existing content, shorten lengthy text, summarize slides, and generate AI-powered images to accompany presentation content.
Zia extends into marketing and social-media workflows as well. In Zoho Social, it can help compose captions, suggest images and hashtags, rephrase content, create variations, and draft responses to social-media interactions.
Zoho has also expanded Zia toward agentic AI. Zia Agents can act as autonomous digital workers for business conversations and workflows. For example, Zoho SalesIQ’s Zia Agents can reason through visitor questions, access Zoho and third-party records, use webhooks and uploaded documents, and escalate conversations to human operators when necessary.
A notable aspect of Zia is its integration with Zoho’s own applications and infrastructure. Zoho says its own generative AI can operate within Zoho’s environment, while some products also provide the option to connect Zia with external models such as OpenAI. Zoho states for its Writer implementation that its own generative AI is available at no additional cost and that data is not used to train Zoho’s generative AI.
Because Zia is distributed across the Zoho ecosystem, its capabilities are highly dependent on the particular Zoho product being used. This makes it particularly useful for organizations already using several Zoho applications and looking for AI capabilities embedded directly into their existing business workflows.
Zoho Zia does not have one universal standalone price across the entire Zoho ecosystem. Availability and pricing depend on the Zoho application and subscription plan.
In some Zoho products, Zia capabilities are included with the product subscription. For example, Zoho Writer states that its own generative AI capabilities are available at no additional cost.
Other products use Zia Credits to measure AI usage. Zoho Social, for example, includes a specified number of Zia Credits within its subscription plans, with the allocation varying by plan.
Zia can also work with third-party AI services in some products. Zoho documents integrations with OpenAI across products including CRM, Desk, Social, Site24x7, Cliq, Mail, Assist, SalesIQ, Notebook, Meeting, Analytics, DataPrep, and LandingPage. In these cases, customers may need their own OpenAI account or API key.
Subscription / Usage-based
Zia is generally bundled into eligible Zoho product subscriptions, but the exact AI capabilities, limits, and credits depend on the specific Zoho application and plan. Some products include Zia at no additional charge, while others use Zia Credits or product-specific AI limits. External AI integrations such as OpenAI may require the customer’s own API account.
Zoho Zia is a strong choice for businesses that already use the Zoho ecosystem and want AI capabilities integrated into their existing applications. Its main advantage is breadth: instead of limiting AI to one product, Zia appears across CRM, customer support, documents, file management, presentations, social media, analytics, and other business workflows.
Its CRM capabilities are particularly useful for sales organizations because Zia combines predictive insights, recommendations, automation, data management, customer engagement, and analytics.
The generative AI features also make Zia useful for everyday productivity. Users can summarize documents, create content, rewrite text, translate content, generate presentations, analyze support conversations, and interact with files through natural-language questions.
Another advantage is the growing agentic functionality. Zia Agents can perform more autonomous tasks and interact with business systems, moving Zia beyond simple question-and-answer assistance.
The biggest limitation is that Zia is not a single product with one consistent feature set and price. Capabilities differ between Zoho applications, and some AI functionality uses credits or depends on the user’s specific subscription. This can make Zia’s overall pricing and feature comparison more complicated than a standalone AI assistant.
For organizations already using Zoho applications, Zia provides a broad AI layer that can improve productivity, customer engagement, automation, analytics, and content creation without requiring employees to leave their existing workflows.
