Bito

Bito is an AI-powered software development platform designed to help engineering teams write, understand, review, and improve code. Founded in 2021 by Amar Goel, Anand and Mukesh, Bito initially focused on AI coding assistance and developer productivity. The platform has since expanded into a broader development system covering AI code reviews, codebase understanding, grounded coding, technical design, autonomous agents, and AI model routing.

Bito’s current platform is built around a code context engine that creates a knowledge graph of an organization’s codebase. This context can be used across different stages of software development, including technical design, coding, and code review. The goal is to give AI systems a deeper understanding of an application’s files, services, symbols, dependencies, and relationships instead of relying only on the text contained in an individual prompt.

One of Bito’s major products is its AI Code Review Agent. The agent can automatically review pull and merge requests, identify bugs, code-quality issues, security vulnerabilities, and potential problems, and provide suggestions for addressing them. It supports GitHub, GitLab, and Bitbucket, including self-managed GitHub and GitLab environments. Reviews can be automated or manually triggered, and developers can interact with the agent through pull-request comments.

Bito’s code reviews are designed to be codebase-aware. Rather than examining only the changed lines, the system can analyze surrounding code and broader dependencies to understand the potential impact of a change. Its AI Architect capabilities extend this approach to cross-repository impact analysis, helping teams identify services, APIs, modules, and dependencies that may be affected by a proposed change.

The platform also provides AI-powered development inside IDEs. Bito supports VS Code, Cursor, Windsurf, and JetBrains IDEs. Developers can request code reviews directly within their development environment and receive explanations, identified issues, recommended fixes, and code suggestions. Suggested fixes can be applied through the interface after developers review the proposed changes.

Bito also provides traditional AI coding capabilities such as code generation, code explanation, debugging assistance, refactoring, test-case generation, and AI code completion. Its documentation lists support for more than 35 programming languages for code-completion functionality.

Another important capability is AI Architect, which helps teams with technical design and impact assessment. Bito can connect this functionality with issue trackers such as Jira and Linear, allowing developers to investigate the feasibility and technical implications of proposed changes before implementation. The platform can also use enterprise information such as Jira, Confluence, Google Docs, and observability data for enterprise-grade context on higher-tier plans.

Bito has also expanded into autonomous coding agents and model routing. Its current Governor product sits between coding agents and AI models, using Bito’s understanding of the codebase to provide relevant context and route requests to an appropriate model. Bito says Governor works with coding environments and agents including Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, GitHub Copilot, and other compatible systems.

The model-routing capability is designed to address two sources of AI development cost: the number of tokens an agent consumes while searching for context and the price of the model processing those tokens. Bito’s approach is to provide relevant code context earlier and select models according to the complexity of the task.

Bito also includes code review analytics that provide teams with visibility into their review processes. Professional and higher plans add capabilities such as custom review guidelines, feedback-based learning, Jira integration, Confluence integration, Google Docs integration, and CI/CD pipeline reviews.

Security is an important part of Bito’s enterprise positioning. Bito states that it does not store customer code or use customer code to train AI models. Its current pricing page states that the platform is SOC 2 Type II certified, uses end-to-end encryption, and supports cloud, self-hosted, and on-premises deployment depending on the plan.

Bito supports a large range of programming languages. Its AI Code Review Agent documentation lists languages including Assembly, Bash/Shell, C, C++, C#, Dart, Delphi, Go, Groovy, HTML/CSS, Java, JavaScript, Kotlin, Lua, Objective-C, PHP, PowerShell, Python, R, Ruby, Rust, Scala, SQL, Swift, Terraform, TypeScript, Vue.js, Visual Basic .NET, and others.

The platform also supports multilingual code-review feedback. Bito currently documents more than 20 output languages, including English, Arabic, Chinese, French, German, Hindi, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish, Turkish, Vietnamese, and others.

Bito is therefore best suited to software engineering teams that want AI assistance throughout the development lifecycle rather than a simple code-completion extension. Its combination of codebase intelligence, AI code reviews, development assistance, technical design, autonomous agents, model routing, security analysis, and enterprise deployment makes it a broad AI engineering platform.

Pricing

Bito currently has separate pricing structures for AI Code Reviews and AI Architect.

For AI Code Reviews, the Free plan provides AI-generated pull-request summaries and supports 30+ programming languages. The Team plan costs $12 per seat/month when billed annually or $15 per seat/month when billed monthly. The Team and Professional plans include 5,000 lines of reviewed code per seat per month, with additional usage charged at $5 per 1,000 lines.

The Professional plan costs $20 per seat/month annually or $25 per seat/month monthly. It adds custom review guidelines, feedback-based learning, Jira, Confluence and Google Docs integrations, CI/CD reviews, and self-hosting as an additional option. A 14-day free trial is available without a credit card.

The Enterprise plan uses custom pricing and provides additional enterprise capabilities such as custom usage limits, cross-repository impact analysis, multi-organization support, on-premises deployment, SSO/SAML, dedicated support, and SLA options.

AI Architect uses a usage-based pricing model rather than per-seat pricing. Bito states that pricing depends on the size of the indexed codebase and usage from coding agents and analysis workflows, with exact rates provided through a scoped quote.

Pricing Note

Bito offers a Free plan for AI Code Reviews. Paid AI Code Review plans start at $12/seat/month when billed annually or $15/seat/month monthly. Professional costs $20/seat/month annually or $25 monthly, while Enterprise is custom-priced. AI Architect uses usage-based pricing and requires a custom quote.

Review

Bito is a strong AI development platform for teams that want more context-aware assistance than conventional code-completion tools provide. Its ability to understand codebases and apply that context to coding, technical design, and code reviews is one of its biggest advantages.

The AI Code Review Agent is particularly useful for automating repetitive review work. It can identify bugs, security issues, code smells, and other problems while providing actionable suggestions. Support for GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket, IDEs, and CLI workflows also makes it adaptable to different engineering environments.

The platform’s broader codebase intelligence is another strength. AI Architect can perform impact analysis across repositories, while the context engine provides a common knowledge layer for development activities. This can be valuable for organizations working with large or interconnected software systems.

Pricing is relatively accessible for smaller development teams because Bito offers a free tier and paid plans beginning at $12 per seat/month with annual billing. However, teams with high review volumes need to monitor included code-review limits and additional usage charges.

Bito also has strong user feedback. G2 currently lists Bito at 4.7/5 from 16 reviews, with reviewers highlighting ease of setup, code-review quality, codebase awareness, and productivity improvements.

The main limitation is that Bito is primarily designed for software development teams. Organizations looking for a general-purpose AI assistant, marketing platform, chatbot builder, or non-technical productivity application may find its specialized engineering focus less suitable.
