Botsonic

Botsonic is a no-code AI chatbot and AI-agent platform from Writesonic designed to help businesses create customized conversational assistants using their own business information. Rather than requiring developers to build a chatbot from scratch, Botsonic allows users to upload documents, webpages, FAQs, website content, and other knowledge sources and then deploy an AI chatbot that can answer questions based on that information. The platform is aimed primarily at customer support, employee assistance, sales, lead capture, and conversational commerce.

The product was introduced by Writesonic as a business-oriented chatbot builder following the company’s experience with Chatsonic. Botsonic was designed around the idea that companies should be able to train an AI chatbot on their own information without needing extensive technical expertise. Users can create a bot, add knowledge sources, test its responses, customize its appearance, and embed it on a website using JavaScript or an iframe.

A key part of Botsonic is its knowledge-based chatbot system. Businesses can provide information through uploaded files, URLs, webpages, FAQs, sitemaps, and supported third-party sources. The chatbot uses this information to answer customer questions, making it suitable for organizations that need an assistant grounded in company-specific documentation rather than a generic conversational AI.

Botsonic supports several AI models, including Azure OpenAI GPT-4o, OpenAI GPT-4o Mini, and Azure OpenAI GPT-4 in its documented model selection. The documentation states that GPT-4o Mini and GPT-4 support all languages, while GPT-4o is positioned for users seeking a balance between response quality and speed. Model availability and consumption can vary by plan.

The platform also includes multilingual support. Botsonic’s bot settings allow users to configure multilingual support, while its supported AI models can process multiple languages. This makes it possible for businesses serving international customers to configure their assistants for multilingual conversations.

Another important capability is AI Agentic Actions. Rather than limiting the chatbot to question-and-answer interactions, higher-tier plans allow businesses to create workflows in which AI agents can reason about a request and execute tasks. The Advanced plan, for example, supports industry-specific workflows with AI agents, behaviors, and agentic actions.

This makes Botsonic useful for automating business processes, not just customer conversations. Depending on the configuration and integrations, an agent can be connected to external systems and used as part of a broader workflow.

Botsonic also supports lead capture. Businesses can use forms inside their conversational experiences to collect visitor information and pass captured data into connected systems. This makes the platform useful for marketing and sales teams that want to turn website conversations into qualified leads.

For customer service teams, Botsonic provides automated support by allowing visitors to ask questions about products, services, policies, documentation, or other company information. The platform can also provide email transcripts and, on higher plans, support handoffs to human agents through services such as Zendesk, Freshdesk, and Salesforce.

The platform supports website embedding through JavaScript and iframe options. This means a company can add its Botsonic chatbot to an existing website without having to create a separate customer-facing application. The documentation provides a step-by-step process for creating the bot, uploading knowledge, testing it, and embedding it.

Botsonic also supports a broad selection of third-party integrations. Current documentation lists WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger, Telegram, Zapier, WordPress, Slack, Google Tag Manager, Google Chat, Calendly, Notion, and Google Drive among available integrations. Higher-tier Enterprise capabilities add integrations such as Salesforce, SharePoint/OneDrive, Freshdesk, Zoho, Confluence, and ActiveCampaign.

Its REST API provides another way to connect Botsonic with external applications. Developers can use the API to integrate conversational functionality into their own applications and services, access response-generation capabilities, and manage bot-related functionality programmatically.

Botsonic is also compatible with websites using JavaScript-supported technology stacks, making it possible to deploy the chatbot across different website architectures. This is useful for businesses operating custom websites or applications rather than relying exclusively on WordPress or another specific content-management system.

For customization, users can change the chatbot’s branding and appearance, including company name, logo, avatar, accent color, widget position, welcome message, and other displayed elements. Users can also configure response length, follow-up questions, email transcripts, model selection, and additional bot guidelines.

Botsonic includes a workspace dashboard where users can create and manage bots and view workspace statistics. The dashboard provides access to usage information, inbox activity, and return-on-investment information, helping businesses monitor how their chatbot is being used.

Higher plans add more advanced enterprise functionality. The Enterprise plan includes advanced AI analytics, SSO/SAML, audit logs, priority support, training sessions, API access, and live-agent or email-ticket handoff capabilities through selected customer-support platforms.

Botsonic’s pricing is currently based on subscription tiers with usage allowances. The current public pricing page lists Starter, Professional, Advanced, and Enterprise plans. All plans include a 7-day free trial without requiring a credit card.

The current Starter plan costs $19 per month when billed monthly or $16 per month when billed annually. It includes one team member, one chatbot, 1,000 messages per month, 10 million uploaded characters, three agentic actions, GPT-4o Mini, lead-capture forms, sitemap uploads of up to 5,000 URLs, and integrations including WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger, Telegram, and Zapier.

The Professional plan costs $49 per month monthly or approximately $41 per month when billed annually. It provides two team members, two chatbots, 3,000 messages per month, 50 million uploaded characters, five agentic actions, access to GPT-4o and upcoming models, additional integrations, automated email transcripts, and a callback button.

The Advanced plan costs $299 per month monthly or $249 per month when billed annually. It includes five team members, 12,000 messages per month, two chatbots, 100 million uploaded characters, industry-specific AI-agent workflows, five workflows, ten agentic actions, unlimited sitemap size, automatic data synchronization, one training session, and API access.

The Enterprise plan uses custom pricing and expands the platform for larger organizations. It provides custom numbers of users, messages, chatbots, behaviors, and abilities, along with advanced integrations, branding, handoffs, analytics, SSO/SAML, audit logs, priority support, training, invoicing, and API access.

Botsonic also sells optional add-ons, including additional messages, team members, uploaded-character allowances, extra chatbots, branding removal, support-handoff integrations, and API access on applicable plans. This gives customers more flexibility but also means the total cost can increase beyond the base subscription when usage or functionality expands.

Botsonic is best suited to businesses that want a relatively accessible way to introduce AI-powered customer support and business automation without developing an AI chatbot infrastructure from the ground up. Its combination of no-code setup, knowledge grounding, integrations, lead capture, agentic workflows, and API access makes it useful for both non-technical business teams and organizations with developers.

Review

Botsonic is a capable choice for organizations looking for a no-code AI chatbot that can be trained on company-specific information. Its strongest advantage is the relatively straightforward process of uploading documents or URLs, configuring a bot, testing its answers, and embedding it into a website.

The platform becomes more compelling on higher plans because it moves beyond basic FAQ automation into agentic workflows. Advanced and Enterprise customers can create AI-powered workflows that reason and execute tasks, giving Botsonic greater potential for business-process automation.

Its integration ecosystem is another strength. Connections to messaging platforms, Zapier, Slack, Google services, Calendly, Notion, CRMs, support platforms, and REST APIs make it possible to incorporate the chatbot into existing workflows.

The main limitation is that the most advanced agentic and enterprise capabilities are concentrated in the higher-priced plans. Businesses with substantial message volumes may also need paid add-ons, so the final cost can be considerably higher than the advertised base subscription.

Botsonic is therefore most attractive to small and mid-sized businesses, support teams, marketing departments, and enterprises that want to deploy customized AI assistants quickly while retaining the option to connect the platform to their existing business systems.
