Hour One was an AI video creation platform focused on helping businesses create professional videos using AI-generated virtual presenters. Founded in 2019 by Lior Hakim, Oren Aharon, and Arnon Kahani, the company developed technology for generating presenter-led videos without requiring traditional filming equipment, actors, studios, or extensive video-production resources. Wix acquired Hour One in May 2025, bringing the company’s technology and team into Wix.
Before its standalone platform was discontinued, Hour One provided an AI-powered video workflow in which users could select a virtual presenter, enter or generate a script, choose a template, customize the scene, and render a finished video. The platform was particularly oriented toward business communication, corporate training, learning and development, marketing, sales, and personalized outreach.
Hour One offered a library of AI presenters and supported customized virtual humans. Users could create custom avatars from webcam footage or uploaded video, while enterprise customers could obtain more extensive avatar and brand customization. The platform also provided customizable templates, allowing businesses to adapt videos to their own visual identity.
The service included AI-assisted tools for generating video content. Its Video Wizard could help users create customized templates, while Script Wizard used GPT-powered assistance to help create scripts. Users could also start videos from presentations, documents, or scripts. The Help Center specifically documented PowerPoint importing, allowing existing presentations to be incorporated into Hour One videos.
Hour One supported a range of business video workflows. Its former website highlighted better business communication, training materials, personalized outreach, and sales content. It was also used for learning and development, corporate communications, marketing, customer experience, and other business-facing video applications.
Another capability was personalization. Hour One allowed users to create personalized videos using variables such as names, job roles, and company names. The Enterprise API could automate these video-generation workflows, allowing organizations to generate customized videos programmatically. The API supported customization of characters, voices, colors, titles, media, transcripts, music, and logos.
Hour One also provided video translation and subtitle tools. Its Translation Wizard could create localized versions of videos, while subtitles could be translated into a range of languages. The Help Center documented subtitle translation for English, Spanish, German, Portuguese, Italian, French, Dutch, Japanese, Hebrew, Chinese, Hindi, Russian, Korean, Arabic, Indonesian, Tagalog, Swahili, and Romanian.
The platform supported collaborative workflows as well. Depending on the plan, teams could have multiple member seats, share videos, download videos, embed content, and use brand-related customization. Enterprise customers had access to API functionality and dedicated customer support.
Hour One’s technology was also used as infrastructure for large-scale AI video generation. Google Cloud reported that Hour One used its cloud GPU infrastructure to accelerate video generation, improve image quality, and support more realistic AI avatars.
However, Hour One should now be treated as a discontinued standalone AI tool rather than an actively available SaaS product. Wix officially announced the acquisition in May 2025 and stated that Hour One’s founders and team would join Wix. Current checks of the standalone service indicate that the platform is no longer accessible.
Hour One’s pricing is historical because the standalone platform has been discontinued.
The last publicly documented pricing structure included a Free/Trial option, Lite at approximately $30/month, Business at approximately $112/month, and Enterprise with custom pricing. Historical pricing information also shows annual billing options for the paid plans.
The former Free/Trial plan included up to three minutes of published video, while Lite and Business provided larger video allowances and additional features. Enterprise offered higher-volume production, additional customization, and API access.
Because Hour One is no longer operating as a standalone service, these prices should not be presented as current subscription prices.
Hour One was designed primarily for organizations that wanted to create presenter-led business videos without traditional video-production resources. Its combination of AI presenters, templates, script assistance, custom avatars, personalization, translation, and API automation made it particularly relevant to corporate communication and learning-and-development workflows.
One notable capability was its ability to start from existing business materials. Users could import PowerPoint presentations, documents, or scripts and use them as the foundation for video creation. This was useful for organizations that already had training or communication material in written or presentation formats.
The platform also emphasized personalization. Its API could automatically generate videos containing customized information such as names, job roles, and company names, making it suitable for personalized outreach and automated business communication.
Multilingual production was another significant feature. Hour One provided translation tools and supported numerous languages for voices and subtitles. However, language availability varied between video voices, subtitles, and translation functions, so a single language count should not be assumed across every feature.
Its main limitation today is availability rather than functionality: the standalone product has been discontinued following its acquisition by Wix. Therefore, Hour One is useful as a historical AI-tool entry but should not be presented in a directory as an actively purchasable standalone platform. Wix stated that it acquired the company and technology to strengthen its own AI-powered digital experiences.
