Make AI is the AI-powered automation layer of Make, a visual automation and integration platform that lets users connect applications, data sources, APIs, and AI models to create automated workflows. Make positions its platform as a visual-first environment for building and managing AI agents and automations, allowing users to create workflows through visual modules, code, or natural-language prompts. The platform currently supports more than 3,000 integrations, giving users the ability to connect AI capabilities with business applications and operational systems.
Make AI is designed around the idea of combining traditional workflow automation with artificial intelligence. Instead of using AI as a standalone chatbot or content-generation application, users can place AI capabilities inside automated scenarios. This allows an AI model to analyze information, classify data, extract information, generate content, make decisions, or help execute business processes before passing the results to other applications.
One of the major AI capabilities within Make is Make AI Agents. The current Make AI Agents (New) application allows users to build agentic scenarios in which an AI agent can independently perform tasks according to instructions. Agents can use large language models, tools, knowledge, and connected applications to complete tasks. The new version is integrated directly into Make’s Scenario Builder, allowing users to build, test, monitor, and debug agents within the same visual environment.
Make AI Agents is currently available in open beta. Make states that the feature is available on all plans when using Make’s AI Provider, while paid plans can also connect their own AI providers. Because the feature is still in beta, functionality and pricing may change as Make continues developing it.
The platform also provides access to Make’s AI Provider, which allows users to use AI models through Make without separately creating accounts with providers such as OpenAI or Anthropic. AI usage can be calculated using credits based on operations and token consumption. Paid users can alternatively connect their own AI provider, such as OpenAI or Anthropic, and pay those providers directly for token usage.
Another important component is Make’s growing AI application ecosystem. Make currently lists more than 3,600 applications in its integration directory, including AI services such as OpenAI, Google Gemini AI, Anthropic Claude, Perplexity AI, Vapi, and Make AI Agents. The broader platform also integrates with productivity, CRM, marketing, communication, development, database, and business applications.
Make’s visual scenario builder is particularly important to its AI functionality. Users can arrange modules and define how information moves from one application to another. Routers and filters can be used to create different paths depending on conditions, while AI modules can process information before subsequent actions are performed. Make also provides an HTTP application for connecting services that expose an API, extending automation beyond the applications available in its native integration library.
Make also supports MCP, allowing AI systems to interact with Make scenarios and connected services. Its MCP capabilities are intended to connect AI systems with automation workflows and external tools, providing another way to incorporate AI into business processes.
The platform can be used for tasks such as lead processing, customer support automation, marketing workflows, data synchronization, content operations, research workflows, sales processes, document handling, notifications, and AI-assisted decision-making. Because scenarios can contain multiple modules and branches, users can create workflows that perform several actions after a single trigger.
Make has its origins in Integromat, with the company tracing its founding to 2012. The platform officially evolved from Integromat to the Make brand in February 2022. Make AI Agents was subsequently introduced in April 2025 as the company expanded its platform toward AI-powered automation.
For organizations, Make AI provides a way to combine AI models with existing software rather than requiring every business process to be redesigned around a separate AI application. Its visual approach also gives users visibility into how information moves through an automation, while its developer features provide additional flexibility for more technical workflows.
Make uses a credit-based pricing model. The current plans are Free, Core, Pro, Teams, and Enterprise. The Free plan costs $0 per month and includes up to 1,000 credits per month. Core starts at $12 per month for 10,000 credits, Pro starts at $21 per month for 10,000 credits, Teams starts at $38 per month for 10,000 credits, and Enterprise uses custom pricing. Annual billing offers savings compared with monthly billing.
AI usage can consume credits according to the type of AI feature, model, operations, and token usage. Third-party AI applications such as OpenAI, Anthropic Claude, and Gemini generally use credits for operations, while Make’s built-in AI features can calculate usage based on operations and tokens.
Make AI brings artificial intelligence into a broader visual automation environment rather than treating AI as an isolated tool. Its combination of AI agents, AI applications, thousands of integrations, visual scenario building, API connectivity, and MCP support makes it suitable for users who want AI to perform tasks as part of larger automated processes.
One of its notable strengths is flexibility. Users can create traditional rule-based automations, incorporate AI processing into those workflows, or build agentic scenarios that can make decisions and use connected tools. The visual Scenario Builder also provides a way to inspect and manage complex workflows.
The credit-based system is useful for usage-based automation because consumption can vary according to the number of operations and, for certain AI features, token usage. However, users working with high-volume or AI-intensive workflows need to monitor credit consumption carefully because usage can vary depending on the workflow and AI model.
Another consideration is that Make AI Agents is currently in open beta, meaning its functionality and pricing may evolve.
