Equals AI
Equals is an AI-powered spreadsheet and business intelligence platform designed to help companies connect, analyze, model, and report on live business data…
SheetAI is an AI-powered Google Sheets add-on that brings generative AI directly into spreadsheets. Developed by IAG Tech and founded by Sanskar Tiwari, SheetAI is designed for people and organizations that already use Google Sheets for data management, content production, research, marketing, operations, and analysis. Rather than requiring users to copy spreadsheet information into a separate chatbot, SheetAI allows AI tasks to be performed directly inside the spreadsheet through custom functions and formulas.
The platform is built around spreadsheet functions such as =SHEETAI(), =SHEETAI_LIST(), =SHEETAI_TABLE(), =SHEETAI_TAG(), =SHEETAI_EXTRACT(), =SHEETAI_TRANSLATE(), and =SHEETAI_FILL(). These functions allow users to describe an AI task in natural language and then apply it to individual cells, ranges, or entire columns. This makes SheetAI particularly useful for repetitive tasks where the same type of AI processing needs to be performed across many rows.
One of SheetAI’s main capabilities is bulk AI processing. A user can place prompts or source information in a spreadsheet column and use an AI formula to generate corresponding results. The formula can then be filled down across hundreds of rows. This workflow can be used for product descriptions, advertising copy, social-media content, titles, summaries, classifications, translations, and other structured content-generation tasks. The current SheetAI website specifically positions the product around running AI at spreadsheet scale rather than handling one prompt at a time.
SheetAI also provides tools for data classification and extraction. Its classification functions can categorize information according to user-defined labels, while extraction functions can identify specific information from unstructured text. For example, users can extract emails, names, companies, dates, or other requested information from text stored in cells. This can help organize messy datasets without requiring users to manually inspect every row.
Another important feature is automatic data filling. With SHEETAI_FILL, users can provide examples of how a column should be completed and allow SheetAI to infer the pattern for additional rows. This can be useful for generating descriptions, completing structured datasets, standardizing information, and filling repetitive content fields.
SheetAI supports AI-powered translation as well. The SHEETAI_TRANSLATE function can translate spreadsheet content into supported languages, making the tool useful for localization and multilingual content workflows. The company states that SheetAI supports more than 90 languages through its underlying AI models and provides a long list of supported languages, including English, Spanish, French, German, Chinese, Japanese, Hindi, Arabic, Hausa, Igbo, Yoruba, and many others.
The platform supports multiple AI providers and models rather than being restricted to a single model family. Its documentation lists integrations with models from OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, xAI, and DeepSeek, allowing users to select different models in SheetAI functions. Examples include GPT-4o, Claude models, and Gemini models. This multi-model approach gives users flexibility when different models have different capabilities, costs, or response characteristics.
SheetAI has also expanded beyond text generation. Its current website promotes bulk image, video, and music generation through Replicate. Users can place prompts in spreadsheet rows and generate media assets associated with those rows. For example, a marketing team can maintain a product catalog in Google Sheets and use SheetAI to generate product images or other creative assets at scale. The platform describes this as a way to keep text, data, and media-generation workflows together in one spreadsheet.
For marketers, SheetAI can be used for advertising copy, product descriptions, SEO content, campaign ideas, social posts, localization, and bulk creative production. The spreadsheet format is especially useful when marketers are already managing products, keywords, campaigns, customer information, or content calendars in rows and columns.
For data analysts and operations teams, SheetAI can assist with classification, tagging, summarization, extraction, cleaning, and analysis. The platform’s documentation also includes an AI Brain feature, data-analysis functions, JSON parsing, and API integration capabilities, extending its usefulness beyond simple text generation.
Researchers and educators can use SheetAI to summarize information, extract findings, translate material, organize datasets, and process large amounts of text. Sales and human-resources teams can use it to personalize outreach, generate follow-up messages, create job descriptions, screen or categorize information, and process large lists.
SheetAI launched on the Google Workspace Marketplace in January 2023, according to its official release announcement. The Google Workspace Marketplace also lists the application with a January 30, 2023 date.
The service has a BYOK model as well as hosted plans. With BYOK, users can connect their own OpenAI, Claude, Gemini, or Grok API keys and pay the respective providers for model usage. Hosted plans are available for users who do not want to manage their own API keys. SheetAI’s current pricing page also includes Replicate support for bulk media generation.
SheetAI is therefore best suited to users who want AI capabilities inside Google Sheets rather than a separate AI workspace. Its biggest differentiator is the combination of spreadsheet-native formulas, bulk processing, multiple AI models, multilingual support, and media generation. For organizations whose workflows already depend heavily on Google Sheets, SheetAI can turn the spreadsheet into a more capable AI-assisted workspace without requiring a completely new application.
SheetAI currently offers a Free BYOK plan, a Starter plan at $12/month, and a Pro plan at $29/month. The Pro plan is also available annually for $290/year. In addition, SheetAI offers one-time credit packs beginning at $29 for users who prefer pay-as-you-go usage rather than a recurring subscription.
The Free BYOK plan costs $0 and allows users to connect their own OpenAI, Claude, Gemini, or Grok API keys. It provides unlimited SheetAI calls through the user’s own keys, while the user pays the relevant AI provider directly. Starter provides hosted AI with no API-key management and approximately 500 AI runs per month. Pro provides higher usage, bulk image/video/music generation through Replicate, bulk fills, classification and summarization, BYOK multimodel support, and priority support.
The credit packs are available in $29, $79, $139, and $299 options, with the displayed token allowances ranging from approximately 97 million to 1 billion tokens.
SheetAI is a practical option for users who spend significant amounts of time working in Google Sheets and want to add AI without moving their workflow into another application. Its formula-based approach makes it possible to apply the same AI task to many rows, which is particularly useful for bulk content generation, classification, extraction, translation, and data cleanup.
Its support for several AI providers is another useful feature. Users can choose between supported OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, xAI, and DeepSeek models, while BYOK users retain control over their provider relationship and usage costs.
The addition of Replicate-powered image, video, and music generation broadens the platform beyond conventional spreadsheet text functions. This can be particularly relevant to marketers and ecommerce teams managing large product catalogs or campaign datasets.
There are also limitations to consider. SheetAI is primarily designed around Google Sheets, so users looking for a standalone AI analytics platform, advanced business-intelligence dashboards, or a general-purpose automation environment may need additional software. AI output also needs to be reviewed when accuracy is important, particularly for factual research, classification, business decisions, or generated content.
The pricing structure is flexible because users can choose between BYOK, hosted subscriptions, and one-time credit packs. However, BYOK users need to account for the separate costs charged by their chosen AI provider. Hosted users instead pay SheetAI directly according to the selected plan and usage allowance.
