Uizard is an AI-powered UI/UX design and prototyping platform designed to help individuals and product teams turn ideas into visual designs quickly. Founded in April 2017 in Denmark, Uizard was created around the goal of making digital product design accessible to people without advanced design skills.
The platform supports the creation of designs for websites, web apps, mobile apps, and desktop software, combining AI-assisted generation with a visual drag-and-drop editor. Users can start with a blank canvas, choose from templates, or describe an idea in natural language and have Uizard generate an editable, multi-screen prototype.
One of Uizard’s main AI capabilities is Autodesigner 2.0, which lets users generate projects, screens, themes, and other design elements from text prompts. The conversational workflow also allows users to modify components and expand an existing design through natural-language instructions.
Uizard also includes Screenshot Scanner, which converts screenshots into editable mockups, and Wireframe Scanner, which turns hand-drawn wireframes and sketches into digital designs. These tools can be useful when teams already have a visual reference and want to turn it into an editable prototype.
For design exploration, Uizard provides AI-generated themes, image generation, a text assistant, design reviews, and Focus Predictor/heatmap functionality. Its broader workflow covers wireframing, mockups, interactive prototyping, collaboration, and developer handoff.
Uizard is particularly useful for product managers, startup founders, marketers, consultants, developers, UX professionals, and product teams that need to communicate or test product ideas without spending extensive time creating high-fidelity designs manually. The platform supports real-time collaboration, commenting, project sharing, and reusable design resources.
Uizard also works alongside established design tools. Its Figma plugin allows users to copy selected Figma elements into Uizard, where they can be edited and enhanced with Uizard’s design capabilities. Uizard also supports importing screens from Figma, Adobe XD, and Sketch.
For developer handoff, Pro and higher plans provide the ability to obtain React and CSS code for individual components. However, Uizard is primarily a design and prototyping platform rather than a complete application-development environment. It does not currently provide API access, database connections, or direct deployment of fully functional websites and applications.
Uizard uses a freemium subscription model with Free, Pro, Business, and Enterprise plans. The current official pricing is:
The Free plan uses Autodesigner 1.5, while Pro, Business, and Enterprise use Autodesigner 2.0. AI generations cover functions such as generating projects and screens, themes, images, heatmaps, design reviews, screenshot scans, wireframe scans, and AI-assisted text and image work.
Uizard is a strong choice for rapid UI ideation, wireframing, mockups, and interactive prototypes, particularly for users who do not have extensive experience with professional design software. Its biggest advantage is the combination of AI generation and an approachable visual editor, allowing an idea to move from text description to editable prototype quickly.
The screenshot and wireframe scanners are also useful for turning existing visual concepts into editable designs, while Figma integration makes it easier to incorporate existing design work.
The main limitation is that Uizard should not be treated as a full application builder. It cannot currently connect designs to databases, deploy fully functional applications, or provide API access. Code handoff is also limited to individual components rather than exporting an entire application.
For teams that primarily need to visualize, communicate, iterate, and prototype digital product ideas, Uizard offers a particularly accessible workflow.
